New Requirements for 2011-2012
Here are a few things you need to know for Inter-League games:
1) As of September 24, 2011, any team playing inter-league games MUST have player passes. The reason is simple; we want to minimize any cheating of players (players moving from team to team).
2) ALL teams including U5, U6 and U8 needs to be activated with a Head Coach in CORIS. This will insure that each coach has passed risk management.
3) Just a reminder: Any player registered after September 1, will have a late fee of $4 billed to the league by CalSouth.
New Requirements for 2010-2011
At the last District 5 Presidents meeting a new requirement was passed for recreational leagues wishing to participate in either Commisioner's Cup or President's Cup for the 2010-2011 season.
Any league wishing to participate in any of the District 5 tournaments for the 2010-2011 season must:
(A) Have hosted at least one YM1 coaching course during that calendar year (2010) prior to October 1, 2010.
or
(B) Already have 80% of their U6/U8 coaches trained in a YM1 course by October 1, 2010.
This requirement does not change anything for the 11 leagues which hold YM1 courses each year (some twice a year).
In our discussion, we agreed that 3 hours and the cost of the YM1 is insignificant compared to the benefit of the players, coaches, parents and your league. When everyone is better educated, there are less problems.
Feel free to schedule a YM1 course this month or next, if you wish. We can easily hold one on a weeknight.
We are planning now for more "E" courses next year. This due to the rule change that U14 and up coaches must have an "E" license to participate in the Cup tournaments next year (2011-2012).
